Peter Bramley divides his time between making theatre and teaching
it.
He was in the last group of final year students to ever have trained
in Paris with Jacques
Lecoq himself, graduating shortly after Lecoq’s death
in 1999. Before that he studied Drama at the University of London,
during which time he had done some training with Angela de Castro
and gained sponsorship from the college to travel to Poland and
train with the Gardzienice company. He has also had further intensive
physical training with Teatr Piesn Kozla (Song of the Goat).
Between 2001 and 2003 Peter lived in New York working with Blue
Inc. Theatre, and touring productions extensively throughout North
America and Canada. Now based in London, he is a founder member
and Artistic Director of Pants
on Fire.
He has worked frequently as a visiting Lecturer at Royal Holloway
University of London, Brunel University, Central School of Speech
and Drama, Goldsmiths College and Greenwich University. He has taught
workshops at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Theatre Royal
Windsor and Churchill Theatre Bromley. Abroad he has given workshops
through Soulpepper Theatre Company and for Equity showcase in Toronto,
and at Yale University in the USA.
Peter took up the post of Head of Movement at Rose
Bruford College in February 2006 |
